Procedure

Who can see this patient

Walks through listing the staff who currently hold access to a patient's record and the relationship that grants each one.

This procedure lists the staff who currently hold access to a patient's record and the relationship that grants each one. It is the reverse view of a permission: rather than asking whether one person may act, it names every person who may.

Before you start

Done. You hold an access-governance role in Cirith Manager.
Done. You have the patient's name or public identifier.

List who holds access

  1. 1

    Open the access panel

Open Cirith Manager, the access panel inside Nexus Manager. It reads the live relationships across the hospital model.

  2. 2

    Find the patient

Search by name or public identifier. The panel opens the one patient record and its current access.

  3. 3

Read the list of people with access

Each row names a person, the role they hold, and the relationship that grants the access. The relationship names the care team, the active admission and the consent behind it.

  4. 4

Expand a row to see the path

Open a row to read the resolution path, the chain that runs from the person through their role and their relationship to this record. The path shows why the access holds.

  5. 5

Read the emergency and blocked rows

The panel marks any clinician currently inside an emergency-access window, and any explicit block placed against a person. Both sit alongside the standing access so the full picture reads in one place.

What the list reflects

The list is live. It reflects the relationships that hold at the moment you read it, so a person drops off once their tie to the patient ends.

A name leaves the list when a shift ends, when a visit completes past its grace period, or when the patient withdraws consent. The list holds the standing right to reach the record. For who actually opened it, read the access log.

Common questions

Why did a name drop off the list?

Their relationship to the patient ended. A completed visit past its grace period, the end of a shift, or a withdrawn consent each removes the standing access.

Does this show who read the record?

This lists who holds the standing right to reach the record. For who actually opened it, and when, read the access log.

Does the list include staff at other sites?

It lists the people who hold access under a current relationship. A member of staff at a site with an active admission and consent appears; a site with no visit sees basic identification only.

List what one member of staff can reach in what can this person see.
